Berlin is the capital city of Germany, the city has a population of 3.5 million. Berlin has experienced an eventful history and this is evident in many of the tourist attractions throughout the city. The memorial is dedicated to remembering the Jewish victims of the Holocaust. This is a huge abstract artwork made up of 2,711 slabs of concrete of varying sizes.

There are more than 170 museums in Berlin, it is often said that Berlin has more museums than rainy days. History buffs will find themselves in their element, especially on Museum Island where several museums are located next to each other. These include Neues Museum which contains an Egyptian bust of Nefertiti, and the Pergamon Museum, one of the world's major archaeological museums.

Other Museums in Berlin include the Topography of Terror, this museum provides insights into the activities of the Gestapo in Berlin during the Nazi years. There's also the DRD Museum, which is highly interactive and offers a snapshot of what everyday life was like for people living in East Germany during the Cold War.

For great views of Berlin, visit Reichstag Parliament. The building was reconstructed after the fall of the Berlin Wall and since 1999 has served as Germany's parliament. You can also get great views from the Television Tower, which is the highest building in Germany and has a revolving restaurant located on the top floor.
